A new rock show for fall, this one dedicated to raising funds for Mallory Langill, a 7-year-old girl
in need of a double-lung transplant. Another
concert with Glenn Kaiser and friends
was organized in December 2007 to raise additional funds, but Mallory passed away just before the
event, and it instead became a memorial concert. We all miss Mallory a lot.
This was another large show - 5 bands - and was in the lobby space, using a plot similar to other lobby
shows. Our little Altman 3.5Q lekos where moved closer but still used a side cross-light (in R06 this
time), which worked better but still didn't cut thru the other lighting as much as I would've liked.
I tried a few new ideas for this show, including using the lower cyc floods (two WFL pars on the
bottom on the trees) to light the drums instead, turning them around and uplighting the drums from
behind and below.
This worked pretty well! I also replaced the L181 wash from above with two smaller washes of R27 and
R95; only the R95 really worked. The trees has R23, R69 and R46, the front footlights had either R19
(didn't work too well) or R94 (worked much better). Frontlight was R55; cyc was R74 from above.
New also for this show was some additional lighting for the rest of the space, including some lighting
over the concession table, entry hallway, and ticket table. This really helped extend the visual
look into the rest of the lobby space, beyond the stage.
