Another rock show, supporting (as usual)
fund raising for children in the Kibera slum area in Nairobi, Kenya.
This was a large show - 5 bands - but was held in the seminar room, as we didn't expect a big house this time around (not much advertising effort time!). I designed and ran this show, using our very old, and nearly dead, portable lighting system. Only 5 dimmers are still working, and we were limited to 600w per dimmer. I did try something new, though, using a couple of Altman 3.5Q lekos with gobos to add some texture. Even with this tiny rig, the gobos were great. I was able to squeeze a single tree behind our backdrop, for one-side backlight, another tree on the side for another pair of lights from the side, and one (yes, count 'em - ONE!) light for front light. You can see the results below - for such a tiny rig I thought it was ok. Click on the photos for larger images. | ||||
