Our dear friend, 7-year-old Mallory Langill, passed away Dec 2nd, still waiting for a double-lung
transplant. This is the 4th benefit show Vineyard has sponsored for her, following three high
school rock shows.
This show was different - using our larger auditorium space and serving as the first concert-style
performance there. Most use of the space - so far - has been a Christmas play and normal Sunday
services. In terms of lighting, the electrical isn't complete (awaiting budget) and currently has
only 6 dimmers and 3 non-dim circuits. It is an unusual space, blessed with a pole dead center of
the main 'thrust' area of the stage. Although the stage is huge, most users try to squeeze themselves
in front of said pole, in a fairly small 3/4 thrust area. Some masking panels were used to nicely
shrink the rest of the stage area.
To light it, I used R55 in a few WFL pars from the front, R358 for backlight, and R367 for an
x-ray-like cross light. On the non-dims, I added some top washses of R74 and R27, and a gobo wash
from our little Altman 3.5Q lekos in R15.
Some of the photos below are mine, others (the better ones!) are by Todd Rodgers or Sarah Rhee. Here
